The SC’s Season is Decided

Sorry to be a blogging bum, but I am gonna close the 2013 baseball front before it ever got started.  I play in one league, and this thing has been decided since the end of April.  The top two teams have not moved, and show no signs of moving.  Meaning my league is a race for 3rd place.

Woooo, stop those thoughts! I think you forgot who you were reading about. Oh, sorry.  You did know.  Yes, for the second year in a row it takes “perfection” to beat The Super Commish.  Yes, I, The Super Commish, am going to finish in 2nd place and there is nothing I can do about it.  The team in first place had the most awesome draft and waiver moves possible.

So with that, The SC is gonna take his 2nd place victory with pride and turn his attention to the NFL, where he just entered a giant 800+ team league called the NarFFL.  So The SC apologizes to those who hope to get a bit off baseball info.  But my attention has turned to the next sport.  But I will be getting ready for the MLB 2014 once the Super Bowl ends!

Getting Setup

The Super Commish is well aware that the second half of the Baseball season is off and running, and he has struck out so far will providing baseball insight.  In his defense, The Super Commish is trying to determine the overall feel and look for this site, along with fine tuning its edge and angle.  Also, the Super Commish has turned his attention toward the NFL as training camp is getting started.  But still, that in not fair to all the baseball fans out there, and so The Super Commish has a few bits of advice.

Players to look at:

Eric Young Jr (New York Mets) – this guy has been off and running the past few weeks and is getting regular playing time.  He could very possible total 30+ steals the rest of the way to along with a decent average and solid run production.  A few weeks ago The Super Commish advised via twitter to go for KC’s Jarrod Dyson for speed. The Super Commish is not afraid to admit he was wrong (but he still pursues perfection), and since Dyson is not getting regular playing and Eric Young Jr is the 2nd half speedster to claim off of waivers.

Carlos Quentin (San Diego Padres) – while some of us were spending the lowest cost possible to acquire Josh Hamilton (The Super Commish got him for Bobby Parnell), the better choice may have been sitting on the waiver wire this whole time.  Quentin is having a very solid season and it has been easy to overlook him as he plays for the most overshadowed team on the West Coast.  His splits do not suggest a major drop off will happen and he should be a little fresher than the average player since he started the season later than everyone else.

Thanks for your time, and The Super Commish is doing his best to get this site up and running smoothly!
